PERMISSION TO DREAM

If anyone's going to tell you to dream, it's me!

Self-diagnosed Enneagram 7, Manifesting Generator 3/1, Libran and well, me :-)

I remember sitting on the beach talking through the logo designs for my preschool.

I remember my son and I riding our bikes when the name Developing Dreams came to me.

I remember writing in my diary, that one day, I'll own a preschool.

Each of those were YEARS before I'd ever step foot inside a preschool with that namesake, money of my own invested in it and my vision to guide it. There was not one shred of evidence to hint at it's possibility, except in hindsight, the fact that those thoughts came to me.

I believe desires are your soul talking to you.

Regularly I walk along the water's edge and the lake is adorned with boats. I appreciate the beauty of the scene, but I've no desire to own a boat. Nothing inside me sparks beyond appreciation. Yet people long to own a boat. And think of travelling. There are people who save, plan, dream about and travel often. It might seem crazy to them that others will never explore another town, country or adventure, but in all honesty, some people just don't have the urge to leave where they are.

Desires, inklings, curiosities, hopes: I think these are whispers guiding you toward the things that light you up, and that lit up feeling increases your feel-good chemicals, reduces your stress hormones and moves you closer to a life that blows your mind.

So yeah, I'm here to say 'DREAM'.

Society so easily nudges us into busy-ness, over-thinking and over-doing, which in turn, stops us hearing our hearts.

There's something making you read this and I think it's deeper than you realise. There's a whisper getting louder and it's time for you to listen.

Here's 3 steps to help you dream your way to you:

  1. remind yourself, happy chemicals are a good thing, and dreaming is a great way to fuel them.
  2. dreaming is imagining. It's like being a kid again, before 'adulting' got in the way, so play with it.
  3. if chillin' out with a daydream isn't your thing, you might need to shut off the phone, tv, people or podcasts and teach yourself to be ok with your own thoughts. Once you've practiced this a few times, your brain will start to offer you new ideas. New ideas that might just change your world!

Why do I have the right to encourage you to dream? 'Cause I believe dreaming is a key strategy that moved me from teen mum to a life that blows-my-darn-mind daily.

Off you go now, get dreaming! But one last thing, dreams don't need to be shared with everybody.

Some dreams you might just wanna keep to yourself šŸ™šŸ„°
