"I'm done!!!"

How many times does this phrase - or your version of it - run through your mind, and maybe even out of your mouth for your children, colleagues, spouse or friends to hear?

With the rate of speed and expectation of life these days, it's no wonder.

When did you become the one responsible human on which the existence of your loved ones happiness and successes fell on? The laundry, the counsellor, the cleaner, the mentor, the cook, the disciplinarian, the teacher, the inspirational leader.

Whoaa - what happened to the days where you woke up and stretched? Or enjoyed a cup of tea, a lunch break or an early night?

If this is sounding all too familiar, I SEE YOU.

First, let's take a breath together. 1 - 2 - 3. Deeply. Lower your shoulders and unclench your jaw. 1 - 2 - 3. You've got this.

"It's not enough to be busy. So are the ants.

The question to ask is 'what are we busy about?"

Henry David Thoreau

Now, let's take a good, honest look at your situation. Grab a pen and paper (or PROMISE YOURSELF you'll come back to this armed and ready to lean into a better way):

  • Brain dump - write EVERYTHING taking up your mental, emotional and physical energy. Great. Now breath again. 1 - 2 - 3. Categorise these into Essentials (yep, children need to be bathed and money needs to be earned), Wants and Unnecessary - and I'm sorry to say, children's tantrums can't be placed in the 'unnecessary' category ;-)

Let's play with examples.

Meals. Essential.

Gourmet dinners, with six vegetables, free range meats, quinoa, followed by hand-made, all natural sweets. Lunchboxes with flower-shaped carrots & freshly baked muffins. A Want. Weetbix for dinner tonight is more than ok if that's going to promote calm and connection, help you save your sanity, and give you back that 20 minutes taken up by the trades people, the unexpected phone call from your mum, or the deadline at work.

What about something like a tidy house? Hmmm.... how I wish I were in your mind right now. Are you looking at me confused as you mentally recite, 'It's Essential - with a capital E!' or do you lean toward the other end of the spectrum by replying with 'yeah, someday we'll get to it. What does it matter? It's only going to be messy again in the morning?'

Either way is fine .... until it's not. And this is the secret to making awful what you need. And it's empowering!

You get to choose.

Yep. True story.

If you're ready to scream 'I'm Over It!' way more often than you want to, it's time to make new decisions.

We'll use our go-to Coaching Framework to help you ('cos it solves everything!):

1. Dream It - what matters? A clean house or you taking time for your healing? In contrast, if the state of your home is weighing you down, jump online and get inspired by the millions of minimilist-living gurus ready to help you take back control of your home & head.

2. Own It - no more denial. You mightn't like hearing this, but there are things about your day you can stop, reduce or increase which will HELP you! Unsure? 1:1 or group coaching might be the support and external viewpoint you need.

3. Live It - new strategies, new routines, new expectations. This is how you live the life of your dreams, be the mother you want your children to know, be the friend, colleague, daughter you're proud of and ultimately, get back on the road to you!

"If you always do what you've always done,

you'll always get what you've always got"

Henry Ford
